So, thinking of ordering custom t-shirts?
Good idea! But whether you’re getting them for your company, a weekend getaway with friends, or promotional giveaways, it pays to spend a few minutes reviewing these questions before ordering custom t-shirts and spending your money.
Here are a few things to consider. Hope they save you time and money.
WHAT ARE T-SHIRTS FOR?
This may seem like a silly question, but it’s important to ask yourself. Thinking about the people who wear them, why, where and what they will do will help you with other elements. For example…
Buying t-shirts for people to wear while handing out flyers – think *visibility*. Bright colors, large design, back call to action. Probably not worn more than a few times, so probably cheap.
Need t-shirts for your new coffee shop’s staff? – Nice logo design, dark shirt color (it hides coffee stains better!), and something soft and comfortable as they wear all day.
Getting t-shirts to gift to favorite customers or even better customers? Then make them something they’ll be happy to wear on a regular basis. They will become your free brand ambassadors!
HOW MUCH DO YOU NEED?
This is a tough one if you don’t know how many people you’re buying for. It’s frustrating if you buy too little or too much. Always keep in mind that you benefit from the economics with screen printing – in other words, the more you buy, the cheaper it is. You can get instant pricing from our homepage.
If you know everyone who will receive one, you can ask them in advance to order custom t-shirts. If it’s for delegates at an event, you can make life easier by asking for their t-shirt size as part of the registration form. Alternatively, you can ask us to collect the quantities from everyone for you for free. We’ll provide a free online sizing form to share with your team, friends or attendees.
Also, the best unit prices for t-shirts start around 25. Depending on the number of colors in your design, it can sometimes be cheaper to order a total of 25 than our minimum of 15!
DISTRIBUTION
How are you going to get them to your team/fans/customers?
Presenting them at an event? Make sure you organize them into sizes, etc., so that you can easily get the shirts you need. Even better, if you know the size of each person attending, you can label them and organize them alphabetically.
DESIGN
Having a great design is important for a popular t-shirt that people want to wear. Hire a professional designer and you’ll get that money back tenfold (or at least improve your brand perception tenfold!). A screen must be created for each color in your design, which costs extra.
Fewer colors = cheaper printing. The good news is that most of the best designs that stand out are just one or two colors!
Make it bold, clear, and easy to see from across the room.
Make sure the designer provides you with a vector of the artwork and Pantone references for colors included.
